Kid’s Yoga

Kids can benefit greatly from yoga classes. They become more flexible and build physical strength and body-awareness. Further, yoga can calm kids, enhance concentration, and reduce stress. Yoga practice also builds self-esteem by instilling confidence with new challenges and experiences in a compassionate and safe environment.

Our kid's yoga classes teach yoga poses, and keep kids focused through age-appropriate play, acting out poses, storytelling, and vinyasa (flow of movement). In addition, we teach basic yoga principles, such as the importance of compassion rather than competition, deepening self-awareness, and practicing making choices.

Bring yoga to your classroom any time with a CPY Virtual Studio license

Virtual yoga means that your classrooms and teachers can have access to yoga any time, any day. For many schools, this is more feasible than the cost and planning of scheduling on-site visits. Virtual yoga classes can either supplement a yoga teacher's on-site visits, or stand-alone. Our goal is for every school child to have access to quality yoga classes. Licensing to use our yoga programs in your school is determined by your school's size.

Our teachers bring kids yoga to you

We do not offer kid's yoga at our studio. However, our trained and certified kid's yoga instructors travel to camps, schools, libraries and daycares to bring the benefits of yoga directly to where kids already are.

We offer a range of class types and lengths to fit the group size, event, and age.

If you're interested in bringing kid's yoga session to your program, please contact us at createpoweryoga@gmail.com.

Storytime Yoga (walkers through 5)
These classes, geared to walkers through kindergarten, are a combination of movement and reading! We invite adults and kids to this class to read and move together. Yoga poses and ideas are learned through the stories we read together. We also explore storytelling by other means - acting, dancing, and music. Storytime Yoga is our favorite program for parent-child programs, as well as preschools and daycare. Sessions are tailored to age of your group and the number of kids participating.
Yoga Classes (ages 5-12)
We bring a time of fun and imagination. In a kid's yoga class, we learn yoga through play, and values such as love, compassion, and gratitude through storytelling and games. Our kid’s classes are tailored to the age and developmental stage of your child, to ensure they are always learning and growing. Classes focus on building self-confidence, physical strength and concentration. Partner poses, basic inversions and beginning arm balances are explored, and poses are held for longer amounts of time with a basic introduction to alignment. Children are encouraged to freely express their individuality while learning the basic yoga principles of respect for others and themselves. Sessions are tailored to the age range of your group of children.

What clients say about our Kid's Yoga programs...

Yoga was added into our preschool program many years ago and the children absolutely love it! Aside from loads of fun, the children also gain an increase in self-awareness, build self-esteem, strengthen body, as well as have the opportunity to release anxiety. Create Power Yoga has been instrumental in helping us find highly-qualified child yoga instructors. We have loved them all! Petra is teaching this class for us for the second year in a row and we couldn't be happier!!

A thousand "thanks you's" for bringing Storytime Yoga to Seekonk Library! By incorporating movement and yoga poses into stories, you gave our families a new experience that was truly enjoyed by all. Coupled with your kind demeanor and gentle ways with children, the program was a wild success. Thanks again for a wonderful program that not only combined literacy with movement but also kept a large group of children and adults thoroughly engaged. Well done!"
